As social media has grown in popularity over the last few years and more individuals from around the world are jumping on the bandwagon and joining the biggest social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, and others, businesses are also finding their way onto these same social media pages so that they can directly market to their consumers and sell more products.
But social media has done more than simply change the way that companies connect with individuals. It has also changed the way that products are packaged. Check out some of the ways that you can incorporate social media into your products’ packaging to further engage your customers.
Make It Known What Social Networks Your Company is On
The first and easiest way to implement social media into your products’ packaging is by simply saving an area of the packaging where you will list all of the social media pages on which your company can be found. This will encourage your buyers to connect with you on these pages, especially if you offer discounts and access to special news and promotions whenever they join in the conversation and follow you on everything from Twitter to Pinterest.
Incorporate Hashtags Into the Package’s Design
Another great way to bring elements of the biggest social media websites right onto your products’ packages is by printing hashtags on them. Hashtags are primarily used on Twitter, but now they can also be used on other social networking websites, such as Facebook, so they are definitely becoming more popular and more useful for businesses of all sizes who want their customers to talk about their products and, in turn, promote those products to their friends and family members within their networks.
Make it a point to print special hashtags onto every product’s package so that consumers will know what hashtag to use to talk about the product, find out more about the product itself, locate variations of the product that they can purchase and use as well, and even access special deals straight from your company.
Print a QR Code Onto the Package
Another great way to interact with your consumers when they pick up your product in a store is by printing a QR code right on the packaging. QR Code stands for Quality Response Code, and users who have downloaded appropriate apps onto their smartphones can use those apps to scan the codes and see what extras they can access. You can set up the QR code to go directly to your official website, to a page with more information on a particular product, or even to a special promotion that you are running on that product to entice people to purchase it.
There are several ways that you can use social media tools right on your products’ packaging. Though you may have never thought of doing so before, today is the best day to begin using everything from hashtags to QR codes within the creative designs of the packaging you use for your products.
