The camera captures both RAW as well as JPEG pictures and can save them in either format, you can choose between Tv (Shutter Priority), M (Full Manual), Portrait (P), SCN (Scene), High Speed Sports, Macro, Landscape, Portrait, Full Auto (A+) and Av (Aperture Priority) on mode dial.

The lens which is image-stabilised and is the new avatar of its entry-level lens give you both in video and still mode a very good quality control on image stability. The camera can take an optional GPS-E2 unit if you need GPS support as no GPS is provided built in.

Charging by USB is not possible you need to take the battery out to charge with a supplied charger. A full chargeable battery can give you anything in between 350 to 450 shots so no need to carry the charger with you if you are not a professional photographer.

Focus System

Its feature smart phones like focus system you can touch the screen to indicate the area you want to focus on while taking pictures and videos which give you a much better control than autofocus.

9 cross-type AF points sensor on the 700D has focus points which are superimposed on the view finder when shooting and on the LCD when using live view mode.

Image Quality

The most important point of this camera as already discussed earlier that the image quality is far better for aflagship entry-level DSLR camera. Even low light pictures taken between ISO 800 and ISO 1600 with the kit lens has amazing clarity with non noticeable noise quality the noise is slightly visible above ISO 3200, the ISO Settings is available up to 12,800 in the snapshot mode and 6400 in video mode.

The photo and video were quiet clear both at indoor as well as outdoor there is also a  non-flash auto mode on the mode select dial by using this you can turn off the flash fully, or you can go to the auto mode where the flash will automatically popup. There is also a support for  5 frames per second shooting mode even the scenes of street shots of vehicles whizzing past the Shining Night market were nicely captured.

The new kit lens with the silent motor is great for video shot you get the motor’s hum in scenes where you depend on the autofocus which has to be edited afterwards. The in built microphone picks up the sound quiet clearly during video shooting.

New menu, new kit lens which shoot quiet a nice video even the battery which once fully charged can take up to 400 pictures this flagship entry-level DSLR camera from canon is quiet a good choice for amateur photo enthusiast the minor hiccups was the brightness of viewfinder which took a little time to get used to rest assured if you are going for this camera you are making a wise decision.
