Idea 3G Aurus III Specification And Review

Well we have already discuss idea ID 920 entry level smart phone in our earlier discussion today we are going to talk about another smart phone launched by idea though it partners ALACTEL a subsidiary of TCL, China, which is released simultaneous with Idea ID920 but the former is an entry level smart phone while the latter is a much advanced version than its sibling now let’s find out what the handset has to offer to its costumer.

Design and Build Quality

Idea Aurus 3 spot a 4 inch TFT screen that has a resolution of 480×800 pixels it’s also powered by 1 GHz single core Media tek 6575 processor the overall build quality is quiet similar to ID 920 it is very impressive and device feels very sturdy. It’s a dual sim based handset in which both the sim support 3g data connection.

OS and Apps

Idea Arus3 runs on latest Android version of 4.1.2 jelly bean it’s powered by 512mb of Ram and the internal memory is 4 GB of which only 1.4 GB is available for the customers it can support up to 32 GB of SD card memory unlike ID 920 idea has not provided micro Sd card of 2gb free with this handset it also features like it sibling Bluetooth 4.0, WIFI b/g/n, GPS and 3.5mm jack to listen to music it also support 3 G download speed of 7.2 mbps.


Arus 3 come with a 5mp fixed focus camera there is no LED or auto focus here but it comes with burst shoot, HDR photo capture & Panorama photo capability which is quiet rare at this price point the audio quality is good with the default headset provided by idea can also record video though not a high definition, the front camera work as a good device during video call.


Idea is offering a 3g offer with this handset for a pack of Rs. 261, Arus 3 users can get 1GB and 1.6 GB of 3G data, respectively, and Idea TV subscription free for the first 3 months. The 3G pack is available along with the smart phones in all Idea 3G circles, where 3g is not present customer can get a equivalent 2g plan.

Battery and Verdict

The idea Id 920 comes with a 1400mAH battery which gives a back up of 5 hours of 3G talk time but when used extensively the battery dries quiet fast you have to charge the mobile at least twice a day, so by paying over 2k (priced at 6900) extra you get a bigger screen better camera, dual camera and a better display angle which is not a bad deal at all.
